Grid Screen

Grid Screen is a desktop window arranger for Linux X11. Assign eligible windows to visual zones, then apply a layout in one action.

Platform scope

Window movement is currently implemented only by the X11 adapter. A Wayland session can enumerate supported toplevels, but it is read-only and arrangement is disabled.

  • Install the Linux desktop application from the published release artifacts.
  • Arrange windows with the five built-in layouts.
  • Create and save layouts, adjust an arrangement for the current session, and inspect system status.
  • Understand persistence, diagnostics, platform limits, and the Rust/Svelte boundary.

Grid Screen does not use a network service, telemetry pipeline, or cloud account. Configuration and logs are local to the machine.
